CARF Accreditation:  Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International announced that Highland House, Inc. has been accredited for a period of three years for its Residential Treatment: Alcohol and Other Drugs/Addictions (Adults) programs. The latest accreditation is the fourth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to Highland House, Inc.

The Highland House staff is our major asset. They are caring, committed and competent.   This project is funded, in part, under a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Basic data for use in this study were supplied by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Highland House

The Highland Half Way House is licensed by the state of Pennsylvania. It is also accredited by CARF in the area of community housing for Alcohol and other drug problems. It is located in an old Victorian home with a resident capacity of eighteen women. Highland House is an affirmative action agency, which upholds a nonviolent, holistic, empowerment philosophy in serving all women, and does not discriminate with regard to race, religion, national origin age or sexual orientation. This residential facility is designed for adult women who have completed short-term drug/alcohol rehabilitation programs and who are making the transition to a new environment, or who are planning to reenter an old environment that is not immediately available or advisable. The residential stay of the program is three to six months. We offer therapeutic support services for women in recovery who are seeking an environment which fosters individual discovery.
